Visit of Sustainability Team and Socfindo Ladies and Wives Association (KISS) to Inalum Waste Bank
Sustainability Team together with the Socfindo Ladies and Wives Association (KISS) visited the Inalum Waste Bank, whose management has been highly organized and contributed to achieving the Gold PROPER award. This experience will be adopted at Socfindo with several adjustments, with PT Socfindo Bangun Bandar Estate serving as the pilot project for the establishment of a Waste Bank.

Inauguration of the Shiraka Fermentation House
The Shiraka Fermentation House was officially inaugurated as a new initiative to promote sustainable community-based innovation. This facility is designed to serve as a learning and production center for fermentation practices, encouraging the utilization of local resources to create value-added products. Through its establishment, the Fermentation House aims to strengthen local livelihoods, enhance food diversification, and provide practical training opportunities for the community in developing environmentally friendly and economically beneficial products.

Visit of the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) Team to Socfindo Conservation
The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) team visited Socfindo Conservation to see firsthand the ongoing conservation and sustainability programs. During the visit, the team was introduced to collections of useful plants, community empowerment initiatives, and educational activities on the importance of biodiversity conservation. This visit reflects the shared commitment of PEFC and Socfindo Conservation in supporting environmentally friendly practices while also improving community well-being.

Visit of BITRA (Bina Keterampilan Pedesaan) to Socfindo Conservation
BITRA (Bina Keterampilan Pedesaan) visited Socfindo Conservation to conduct a workshop on strengthening local food systems through the Climate-Adaptive Farmer Field School, attended by 60 participants. The program not only discussed community-based food system strategies but also introduced Socfindo Conservation’s collection of useful plants as a tangible example of diversifying food sources with health and economic value. Through this approach, participants were encouraged to see how the utilization of local biodiversity can support food security while serving as an adaptive solution to the challenges of climate change.

Simalungun Regency Government Visit to Socfindo Conservation
Socfindo Conservation welcomed a visit from the Simalungun Regency Government, represented by Mr. Akmal Siregar and his team. The guests showed great enthusiasm for the medicinal plant conservation program and various processed products such as herbal tea, honey, healthy noodles, kombucha, and vinegar. The visit also included a tea cupping session at the Socfindo Conservation Hall and a tour around the conservation garden.

Field Study Visit of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara to Socfindo Conservation
Socfindo Conservation welcomed a visit from students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) as part of a Field Study and Educational Tour at the Socfindo Conservation Garden. This activity aims to introduce the concept of biodiversity conservation and the implementation of sustainable environmental management practices within the Socfindo conservation area.
